Just when the lives of Leo and Clive seem to be stabilizing, the tension in the world around them grows. Davies describes the series as a cross between his cult classic Queer as Folk and the dystopian BBC series Years and Years.
The cast further includes Pooky Quesnel as Clive's wife Marie, Jackson Connor as their youngest son George, Joseph Evans as George's older brother Saul, Elizabeth Berrington as Leo's best friend Stephanie, Iz Hesketh as Zee, Shakeel Kimotho as Hanna (both working in the Spit & Polish bar), Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as bar manager Judy, Paul Rhys as Canal Street figure Melba, Charlie Condou as Leo's ex-husband Curtis, and Denise Welch as Diane.
Cumming emphasized the personal significance of the collaboration: he has been working with Davies for over twenty years and is thrilled to finally act alongside his good friend Morrissey. Morrissey added that it is a privilege to work with both on what he describes as an "amazing piece."
