When this 'husband' mysteriously disappears and is replaced by a completely different man, Lauren discovers that her attic seemingly creates an endless stream of new husbands.
The series features a unique concept where multiple actors each play a different version of Lauren's partner. Her various husbands are portrayed by Joe Alwyn, Richard Gadd, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Joel Kinnaman, Daniel Ings, Bob Morley, and Fehinti Balogun. This ensures that each 'marriage' has a different dynamic and personality, making the series both comedic and existential.
In addition to these 'husbands,' there are supporting roles for Tom Basden, Joe Wilkinson, Gemma Whelan, Rebekah Murrell, and Shazad Latif.
The series is based on the book of the same name by Holly Gramazio and centers around an intriguing question: if you could change your life as easily as replacing a light bulb, how do you know if you're making the right choices? As Lauren continually gets a new partner, she is forced to reflect on love, identity, and the consequences of endless possibilities.
Behind the scenes, the series is led by screenwriter Miriam Battye (known from Succession) and director Adam Randall, with production by A24. The project combines humor with existential themes and promises an original take on relationships and life choices.
