Casting news about pilot episode American Auto from Justin Spitzer

Earlier it was announced that Harriet Dyer will get a role in American Auto. It is now known who will play the lead role in the series. American Auto takes place at the headquarters of a large American car company in Detroit, where a group of enthusiastic executives are trying to rediscover the corporate identity in a rapidly changing industry.

Ana Gasteyer (Saturday Night Live) plays the lead role in NBC's single-camera comedy pilot American Auto, by Justin Spitzer (Superstore), Aaron Kaplan's Capital Entertainment and Universal Television. Gasteyer portrays Katherine Hastings, the CEO of Payne Motors. Gasteyer joins Harriet Dyer, who was previously cast as the head of Payne's communications department. Justin Spitzer is writing the series, and Spitzer is also an executive producer. Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor also serve as executive producers of the series.

Superstore, a series that Justin Spitzer made earlier, was well received. Earlier this month it was announced that the series will have a sixth season. Gasteyer previously portrayed Susan Cinoman in The Goldbergs and has once again taken on this role in the Schooled spin-off.
