Earlier it was <a href="https://www.myseries.tv/news/pilots/8935-fox-orders-pilot-from-the-big-leap/"> announced </a> that FOX has ordered a pilot of The Big Leap from Liz Heldens. It is now known who will play the lead roles in the series.
The Big Leap revolves around a group of underdog dancers competing to be part of a modern, hip remake of Swan Lake. The series covers topics such as self-acceptance, empowerment, second chances and chasing your dreams. Teri Polo plays the lead role in The Big Leap, FOX's long-running comedy drama pilot by writer and executive producer Liz Heldens (The Passage). Teri Polo portrays Julia Torrence. Julia is a beautiful former ballerina, now she is a mother who focuses more on her Instagram than on her moody teenage daughters. In addition, Ray Cham, Ser’Darius Blain and Matt Lucas also get a leading role in the series.

Ray Cham (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) portrays Justin Reyes, friend and dance partner of Gabby. He now works for a large retail chain to support himself, but when Gabby turns up he gets the motivation to dance again. Ser'Darius Blain (Charmed (2018) is cast as Reggie Sadler. Reggie is a professional football player. He has shown bad behavior and has to take a break from his sport. He decides to dance to find himself again. Matt Lucas (Little Britain) portrays Wayne Sleep, a former dancer who is one of the co-hosts of The Big Leap.
The Big Leap was written by Liz Heldens and inspired by the British reality series Big Ballet. It is a co-production between 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Entertainment. Heldens is executive producer together with Sue Naegle and Peter Dale of the British company Rare Day.
