Casting news for Dangerous Liaisons

The cast for the Starz series Dangerous Liaisons has been revealed. It includes the Dutch Carice van Houten (Game of Thrones). Dangerous Liaisons is a retelling of the classical 18th century novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. The series revolves around the marquise Camille de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont. On the eve of the revolution, they fall in love in Paris. They are driven to right the wrongs of their past and arise from the slums of Paris. They will fight to earn the highest spot in the French aristocracy, which involves manipulating both each other and other royalty in order to survive. Alice Englert (Ratched) and Nicholas Denton (Glitch) portray the lead characters.

Lesley Manville (The Crown) will portray Genevieve de Merteuil. She is a marquise who becomes Camille's mentor in the world of French nobility. Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones) portrays Jean de Merteuil, Genevieve's husband. He is a powerful marquis who threatens Camille's arrival in society.

Carice van Houten (Game of Thrones) will portray Jacqueline de Montrachet, a pious noblewoman with a mysterious connection to Camille. Paloma Faith (The Umbrella Academy) will portray Florence de Regnier, a playful and fiery noblewoman. Kosar Ali (Rocks) will portray Victoire, Camille's sparkling, cynical and brave best friend.

Nathanael Saleh (The Letter for the King) portrays Azolan, Valmont's gentle and considerate young companion. Hakeem Kae-Kazim (Intergalactic) portrays Majordome, who runs the house of Merteuil. Hilton Pelser (The Kissing Booth) will portray Gabriel Carrè, a police officer who is obsessed with Camille. Colette Dalal Tchantcho (The Witcher) will portray Ondine de Valmont, Pascal Velmont's stepmother. Maria Friedman (EastEnders) will portray Berthe, a spinster in Paris.

Lucy Cohu (COBRA) will portray Christine de Sevigny, a smart and ambitious duchess. She is also the archenemy of Camille. Fisayo Akinade (Ordinary Lies) will portray Chevalier de Saint-Jacques, the favourite composer of queen Marie Antoinette and Pascal Valmont's best friend. Mia Threapleton (A Little Chaos) will portray Rose, an easily influenced young prostitute who dreams of a better life. Clare Higgins (The Worst Witch (2017)) will portray Madame Jericho, the eccentric owner of a brothel in the slums of Paris.
