Chrissy Metz cast in Apple TV+'s Lars Kepler crime series

Chrissy Metz, whom you may know from This Is Us, is the latest name to join the cast of the as-yet-untitled series from Apple and A+E Studios.
Based on the popular crime novels by Lars Kepler, the series follows Jonah Lynn (Liev Schreiber), a former soldier who worked as a homicide detective on the tough streets of Philadelphia. Seeking peace, he moves with his family to a small town in Western Pennsylvania. But when both the town and his family are threatened by the cunning and dangerous serial killer Jurek Walter (Stephen Graham), Jonah must do everything he can to protect his loved ones.

The situation escalates when Jonah, in his desperate search for Jurek's last known victim, pits his adopted daughter, FBI agent Saga Bauer (Zazie Beetz), against Jurek. How far will Jonah go to keep everyone safe?

Chrissy Metz (pictured) joins the previously announced cast of Schreiber, Graham, Beetz, Bill Camp, and Rory Culkin. Metz plays Ida, a single mother struggling to make ends meet and plunged into a nightmare when her children disappear.

Metz, who has been nominated for an Emmy and two Golden Globes, will also soon be seen in the Netflix drama The Hunting Wives and in the Lifetime film Faith in the Flames: The Nicole Jolly Story, for which she wrote and sang the theme song "Last Day in Paradise." She also recently starred in the film Bank of Dave: The Loan Ranger.

She is best known for her role as Kate Pearson on This Is Us. Other television roles include the FX series American Horror Story, NBC's My Name Is Earl, HBO's Entourage, and the TBS series The Last O.G. On the big screen, she starred in Breakthrough, where she sang Diane Warren's Oscar-nominated song "I'm Standing With You," and the indie drama Stay Awake.
