Natasha Henstridge and Joshua Close cast in Netflix's Newfoundland series

Natasha Henstridge and Joshua Close have joined the cast of Netflix's new, as-yet-untitled Newfoundland series, which also stars Josh Hartnett. The series revolves around a mysterious sea monster terrorizing a remote Newfoundland fishing village. Josh Hartnett plays a life-scarred fisherman who must do everything he can to protect his family, his community, and his traditional way of life from this unknown threat.



Joshua Close will play police officer Jaxon Noseworthy, while Natasha Henstridge (pictured) will play Jan. They are part of a larger ensemble cast that will also feature Mackenzie Davis and Charlie Heaton.

The series is currently filming on the east coast of Canada, in the province of Newfoundland, which also serves as the story's location. The setting is a key element, with the rugged and picturesque Atlantic coast serving as the backdrop.

This production joins a growing trend of international series filming in Newfoundland, as have previous productions such as Amazon Prime's Reacher and Apple TV+'s Severance.

The project is led by showrunner Jesse McKeown, a veteran screenwriter who previously worked on hit series like The Umbrella Academy. In addition to his role as showrunner, he also serves as executive producer, along with Chris Hatcher and Sharon Hall.

Regarding the cast: Natasha Henstridge has a diverse career in film and television, including roles in ABC's Eli Stone, The CW's supernatural fantasy series The Secret Circle, and the feature films Species and Species II, The Whole Nine Yards and The Whole Ten Yards, and Deception.

Joshua Close will soon be seen in the Paramount+ miniseries Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenet Ramsey and the Netflix thriller Wayward. He has also had roles in the FX anthology series Fargo, CBS's Person of Interest, and Epix's The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair.
