Casting news for Power Book III: Raising Kanan

Power Book II: Ghost was already announced last year. The third part, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, has now also been announced. It is also known who will play the lead role.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan is a prequel to Power. The series revolves around James 'Ghost' St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick, Being Mary Jane), the owner of a nightclub that he owns as a cover for his criminal activities. The third chapter of the series - created by Courtney A. Kemp (Hawaii Five-0) - brings viewers back to the 90s and early years of the iconic Power character Kanan Stark. The one in the original series is played by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.

Mekai Curtis (Milo Murphy's Law) plays the role of the young Kanan Stark. Patina Miller (Madam Secretary) plays his mother Raq. Kanan is a smart, driven and naive boy and does not know how the world works. Slowly he gets to know the world around him and he learns how to cope and deal with everything. He was raised by his mother, she is therefore his everything. Kanan wants to follow in his mother's footsteps, but his mother is not that enthusiastic about it. The relationship between mother and son is complicated and becomes more problematic over time.
