Spotlight on: Jensen Ackles

Lights off, spotlight on! Time to see in which series this actor portrayed a character.
On the first day of March in 1978, Jensen Ross Ackles was born. The boy who was born in Dallas, Texas doesn't immediately aspire to become an actor. Even though he took part in several commercials at a young age, he was more interested in sports.

Eventually, Ackles decided to pursue acting. In 1995, he acquired his first role. He was part of an episode of Wishbone, a series about an adventurous dog who thinks he's a hero from all kinds of books and ends up in loads of adventures. A year after that, he also had a guest role in Sweet Valley High.

His first recurring role happens a year after that. In the series Rhodes, he portrays Malcolm. The series isn't successful and thus it doesn't get any further than one season. Not much later, Ackles becomes part of one of the longest-running American series ever. In more than 100 episodes, Ackles portrays Eric Brady in Days of Our Lives.

Dark Angel is his first supernatural project, here he portrays Alec/X5-494. The series revolves around a group of genetically modified teens who escape from their experimental circumstances. Years later, they are tracked down and monitored to see how they're holding up in a post-apocalyptic world. Comparable, but without the apocalyptic elements, is his portrayal of C.J. in Dawson's Creek. This series follows a couple of kids as they grow up.

Ackles then really becomes part of the supernatural genre. A role in the popular series Smallville is next. The hit series, which ended up having ten seasons, revolves around the young Clark Kent - Superman - who has to find his place on earth as a teen with superhuman powers. Ackles portrays Jason Teague, the antagonist in the fourth season of the series.

The year after that, he starts his biggest success. The CW orders the supernatural series Supernatural. As Dean Winchester, he and his younger brother Sam hunt all kinds of demons, creatures from the underworld, angels and other mystical creatures. Even the devil isn't safe. The series will reach its end after the fifteenth season concludes. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the final episodes of the series were delayed. And even though these episodes have been teased quite a bit, we will still be able to enjoy this series for a while.

Ackles' next project is The Boys. Just like Supernatural, this is a series that involved Erik Kripke. Ackles will become a cast member in the third season of the series, which revolves around a group of civilians who deal with corrupt superheroes. Ackles appears to stay in the supernatural world for quite some time. And that's a good thing, as it suits him quite well.
