Spotlight on: Tiffani Thiessen

Lights off, spotlight on! Time to see in which series this actress portrayed a character.
Triiiiing! Saved by the bell. In 1989, we got to see Tiffani Thiessen as Kelly Kapowski in Saved by the Bell. She is the handsome, popular teenager at Bayside High who is continuously chased by Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar. He always tries to hit on her in an obvious but fun manner.

Saved by the Bell was a big hit for NBC back in the nineties. Even though the series focused on teenagers, it also covered lots of mature themes. For instance, the show talked about drugs, drunk driving and homelessness.

For Thiessen, Saved by the Bell meant her immediate breakthrough. As a child star, she was part of all four seasons of the series. During this time, she also had guest performances in various other series such as Married with Children, Valerie and Powers That be.

Thiessen remained true to her roots and thus she is also part of Saved by the Bell: The College Years. A year before that, she was also part of the movie on which this sequel series is based. It wasn't entirely successful and was cancelled after one season.

After all that, Thiessen acquires some movie and television roles. She also has another big hit with Beverly Hills, 90210. For more than 100 episodes, she portrays Valerie Malone. This strong woman is dealing with the aftermath of sexual abuse and finds it highly difficult to trust people. Instead of that, she is rather manipulative, which doesn't maker her life in Fox's Beverly Hills a lot easier.

Her next role is a short recurring role in Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place. After that, a small role in Just Shoot Me! follows. Then, she decides to pick out more permanent roles. It doesn't take long before Fastlane is cancelled, which revolved around two handsome undercover agents. Good Morning, Miami managed to last for two seasons. It revolved around a tv-producer who is tasked with increasing the ratings.

Thiessen then has a short break. After that, she appears in the dubious Pandemic. In 2007, she acquires a role in the popular What About Brian. After that, her next hit ensues. In six seasons of White Collar, she portrays Elizabeth Burke, the wife of FBI special agent Peter Burke. The crime dramedy is appreciated by many.

The actress then has nothing big for quite some time, up until 2018 when she becomes part of the comical drama Alexa & Katie. The Netflix series has four seasons in total. Thiessen portrays the mother of Alexa. This November, the reboot of Saved By the Bell (2020) followed. Most of the actors from the original series are part of this sequel, accompanied by a young new cast. For now, it has received mixed critical reception. There's plenty of nostalgia, however. So, if you enjoyed the lives of these youngsters while they were at Bayside High, you should definitely give this new series a try. Class dismissed!
