I Am Not Okay With This

Last February, this young adult dramedy was received on Netflix and it was praised. In I Am Not Okay With This, we follow Sidney, a pubescent teenager who discovers that she has destructive superpowers. Unfortunately, this series was cancelled due to the pandemic. However, that hasn't stopped you from nominating it!
I Know This Much Is True

This HBO mini-series released in May. It follows twin brothers Dominick and Thomas. Both are portrayed by Mark Ruffalo and this resulted in an Emmy for him. I Know This Much Is True deals with difficult topics such as child death and mental health. The series was received well.
Locke & Key

Last February, the fantasy series Locke & Key was released on Netflix. The series received praise. It follows the Locke family, who move to Keyhouse after the death of the patriarch. Here, they have to deal with demonic entities and magical keys. The series has been renewed with a second season.

The New Pope

The second HBO mini-series in this list is The New Pope. This is a sequel to The Young Pope. In this series, we follow Jude Law as Pope Pius XIII. The series reveals all the secrets of the Vatican. This series received a lot of praise.
The Outsider (2020)

The Outsider (2020) is the third HBO mini-series on this list. A second season is not yet fully out of the picture, but it will not happen at HBO. The Outsider (2020) is an adaptation of the book with the same name by Stephen King. It was well-received. Especially the acting of Cynthia Erivo and Jason Bateman was praised. The latter was nominated for an Emmy.
The Queen's Gambit

This nomination is definitely not the least. The Netflix mini-series The Queen's Gambit quickly conquered the world of series and thus it has been nominated for this is. With an 'approval rating' of 99% on Rotten Tomatoes and praise for Anya Taylor-Joy, The Queen's Gambit will be a big contender in the award season of 2021. I can already smell the Emmy's.
Raised by Wolves (2020)

Raised by Wolves (2020) first started on HBO Max in September. It was one of the first original series of the new streaming service. It is a science fiction series that shows how androids raise human children. The general consensus is quite positive and it didn't take long before it was renewed with a second season.
Ratched

The deal between Netflix and Ryan Murphy has resulted in various great projects. One of these projects was Ratched, which features Sarah Paulson. She can often be seen in one of Murphy's productions. Ratched is a prequel to the famous movie One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. Most of the reviews were positive and this is also the case for the MySeries readers. Two seasons of the series were already ordered, so a second season is a certainty.
Snowpiercer

Snowpiercer is a post-apocalyptic thriller and is a co-production between TNT and Netflix. We follow a group of people who spend their lives on a train that is constantly circling around the destroyed Earth. Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly portray the lead characters. The series received mixed reactions. A second season will release in January.
