Awards: the most binge-worthy series of 2016

Which series were the best and worst of 2016? From 5 January until 4 February you can vote for the Annual Series Awards. This column is intended to give some extra information regarding the nomination of the most binge-worthy series of 2016.

Which series was the most binge-worthy series of 2016? It is up to the visitors of myseries.tv to cast their votes. Besides the category of the best series of 2016, I also had the honour to put together the list of nominees for most binge-worthy series of 2016, and this was a lot harder than it seems.

Because which series is suitable for binge-watching and which series is not? Do the best binge-worthy series have six, eight, ten or even thirteen episodes? Or do the number of episodes don't matter or is it just a matter of not being able to stop watching and wanting to finish the whole series in one go? To try to avoid nominating the same series, I tried to look at series which had one or more seasons.
Because The Night of, The Crown and The Young Pope are undoubtedly among the best new series, but if you want to vote for one of these series anyway, you can make use of the wild card.

So the most binge-worthy series of 2016, how did I compile this list.
I considered the appeal of the story, do you want to know how it ends as soon as possible? I also looked at which series were rated the highest, even though that is not the most important criterion. What mattered most were the comments on the Internet and social media and if the series had one overall story or if it was a procedural series. I made one exception for Black Mirror which has standalone episodes, but is not a procedural.

Is your favourite not among the nominees? No problem, just fill in your own choice. The only condition is that the series was broadcast in 2016, even if it was just one episode, and it should fit the category binge-worthy series. From 5 January you can vote for your favourite series in twelve categories and the category of most binge-worthy series is one of them. In February 2017 we will announce the winners.
