CBS renews, cancels and orders new series

CBS has decided to cancel an NCIS spin-off. They have also ordered a new spin-off, renewed two comedy series and cancelled one.
NCIS: New Orleans is going to end with its seventh season. Over more than 150 episodes have aired. The final episode is planned to release on the 16th of May. When one spin-off ends, another begins. CBS may be working on a new spin-off, which will be called NCIS: Hawaii.

The question remains whether or not NCIS is renewed. The creators are currently awaiting renewal for the nineteenth season but the contract for lead actor Mark Harmon is set to expire after the current season. If there's going to be a nineteenth season, Harmon will appear in fewer episodes. He signed a deal for only a couple of episodes. This will not result in the end of the NCIS franchise. Next to the new spin-off, there is also NCIS: Los Angeles, which already has twelve seasons.

We are going to stick with the police shows for a bit. Supposedly, CBS is also working on a new FBI series. The new spin-off will be called FBI: International. It will revolve around the international operations of the FBI. Derek Haas (Chicago Fire) will write the script for the pilot episode.

Mom is the longest-running comedy series that is currently still airing at CBS. This series is going to end as well. It will end with its eighth season, of which the final episode will air on the 6th of May. Next to that, CBS has renewed two other comedy series. The romantic dramedy Bob Hearts Abishola has been renewed with its third season and the Neighborhood has been renewed with its fourth season.
