Production of several series halted due to fires in Los Angeles

Several television series have been forced to halt production due to the raging fires in Los Angeles.
As the Hollywood community and the rest of Los Angeles woke up yesterday to post-apocalyptic skies, images of total devastation from ongoing wind-driven wildfires, more evacuation orders and school closures, television shows suspended production for a day in affected areas.

Warner Bros. has halted production at its Burbank location for yesterday due to high winds and wildfires near the Los Angeles suburb. The move impacts Warner Bros. television series Abbott Elementary, All American (2018) and The Pitt, which were filming, as well as multi-camera sitcoms Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage and the upcoming Leanne Morgan project, which were scheduled to be in rehearsals.

The sets of 20th Television’s Grey’s Anatomy and Doctor Odyssey were also dark yesterday.

Out of an abundance of caution, CBS Studios also opted to shut down production in Los Angeles yesterday morning. That includes NCIS, which films in Santa Clarita, and NCIS: Origins, which films on the Paramount lot. The studio’s Los Angeles sitcoms The Neighborhood and Poppa’s House did not film yesterday and were working remotely.

Universal Studio Group's Hacks, which won two Golden Globes on Sunday, Happy's Place, Loot, Suits LA and Ted did not film yesterday as NBCUniversal closed parts of Universal Studios.

The company also closed the Universal Studios theme park yesterday amid fires nearby.

The fires are also affecting late-night shows, with ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live and CBS’s After Midnight suspending filming yesterday.

A slew of events have been canceled due to the fires, including the premiere of the new Max medical drama The Pitt last night and a press event for ABC’s new comedy series Shifting Gears. Prime Video’s Fallout, which films in Santa Clarita, has pushed back the start of production after the holidays by a few days as a precaution.

We’ll post an update with more information on production shutdowns if/when it becomes available.

When you see the images, you immediately understand why...
A really huge disaster. Not only for the series viewer, but especially for the people who live and work there. Hopefully they will get the fires under control soon, which is difficult because of the strong wind and the drought there...

I hope you don't mean it that way or I misread it with "really a huge disaster. Not only for the series viewer".

But when you start talking about post-apocalyptic skies, images of total devastation caused by incessant wind-driven wildfires, more evacuation orders and school closures, I certainly don't immediately think of "the series watcher."

Oops, thanks for letting me know that you could interpret my response that way too.
Because this is a site for series viewers and the article naturally also had the focus on which series cannot be filmed temporarily, I chose this formulation.
But of course "the series viewer" in NL or B is not the first "victim" you think of when you see the images...
