Corona crisis; which series to watch? Dagmar's top 5

It has become a well-known image, empty supermarket shelves, empty squares and shopping malls. People work from home or not at all. How can you spend that time? We have made a top 5 displaying series you could watch in these peculiar times.
Sometimes I find it challenging to figure out what to watch, especially now that I have a bit more time. Is that a problem for you as well? Or do you think that you've watched it all? I present to you my top 5. Hopefully, I'll be able to inspire you.

5. Dark

If you have the feeling that your brain isn't as challenged as usual, due to having to cancel all activities, then Dark is the show to watch. Dark will be a challenge to watch. When I watched the series, I think that I thought of a thousand possible theories. Dark is a German mysterious drama series that has been made by Netflix. In the German town of Winden, children seen to vanish mysteriously. Four families work together to try and find missing children. The question isn't just who's behind the disappearances, but also when the disappearances happened. A series where you have to pay close attention and think hard if you want to figure out the story. The first two seasons have already released on Netflix. Last January, production on the final season was finished.

4. A Million Little Things

Out of a million series to watch, I recommend A Million Little Things. Now that we get to see our friends a lot less, we can join the group of friends in this series. They don't just share great moments. They also have to cope with sadness. The group experiences massive changes once one of them leaves the group in a way they never thought possible. It is a wake-up call for the others, which is something they needed for quite some time.

3. Broadchurch

I think that my love for crime/ thriller series started here, with Broadchurch. This is the first series of this genre, as far as I can remember, that I've watched. Broadchurch is the kind of series where everyone could be the perpetrator. Everyone is just a bit too innocent and sweet to each other. It all starts with the mysterious death of the young Danny Latimer. Alec Hardy (David Tennant) and Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman) are put on the case. This is just the first season, in the other two, Alec and Ellie, are tasked with solving other cases.

2. The Handmaid's Tale

I still remember that I've watched the first season of this series in one go. If you're looking for something cheerful, then this isn't a series you should watch. It is a series that makes you think and wonder. Elisabeth Moss does an amazing job as the main character, and the supporting cast is great as well. The Handmaid's Tale revolves around Offred (formerly known as June). She was separated from her husband and daughter due to the regime in the republic Gilead, formerly known as The United States. June tries to fight for her rights and to see her daughter once again. The series is based on a book that was written by Margaret Atwood.

1. Euphoria

I haven't watched the entire first season of this series as of yet, but it managed to convince me in the first couple of episodes. The series is intensely interesting. Everything about Euphoria seems to be just right; the cast, the music, the lightning, the filming techniques and I could go on like that. Furthermore, the story. It isn't necessarily all happy, but the topics are important. The series revolves around former drug addict Rue Bennet (Zendaya), who's just returned from rehab and is trying to pick up her life and education. Next to Rue, the series also revolves around various other teenagers who are struggling with various matters such as sex, drugs and violence. The series is produced for HBO.

I want to mention La Casa de Papel and The Crown. I didn't add them to my list on purpose, as I wanted my list to consist of unknown series. Even though I am aware that The Handmaid's Tale is known rather well, I couldn't leave it out. Hopefully, I've provided you with various exciting series to spend your time. If not, there will be more top-five lists coming up in the future.
