Corona crisis; which series to watch? Lucas Verbunt's top 5

It has become a well-known image, empty supermarket shelves, empty squares and shopping malls. People work from home or not at all. How can you spend that time? We have made a top 5 displaying series you could watch in these peculiar times.
The weather is beautiful outside, but unfortunately, most of us are locked up inside our houses. The advantage is that we get to watch all those series that we usually don't have the time for. By now, the amount of series we can watch is immense, and I can imagine that it is easy to be overwhelmed by everything. The top-five I've created is, I think, an excellent way to start things off. All series are relatively new and worth your time.

5. Dolly Parton's Heartstrings

Maybe this isn't the best series to watch, but it is very easy to watch. Each episode in this anthology series is based on one of the songs by country legend Dolly Parton. The cast is quite well-known as well, think of Ginnifer Goodwin, Julianne Hough and Katie Stevens.

4. Cable Girls

This Spanish soap takes place in Madrid in the 1920s. The series revolves around four friends who all work as operators at a big company. Cable Girls is full of love, deceit, murder and sneakiness. Furthermore, it is very easy to watch.

3. A discovery of Witches

This is also an amazing series. As you may have already thought, the series revolves around witches. Very romantic, but also packed with action. I've always had a soft spot for true British series. They have a certain kind of allure. The second season is expected to release in September this year.

2. Killing Eve

Ever series fan must've heard of this series by now. This exciting cat and mouse game between MI6-agent Eve Polastra and hitwoman Villanelle will keep you on the edge of your seat. A series everyone has to see.

1. Why Women Kill

I am so happy that I started watching this series because damn it is amazing! It is a fantastic feelgood series about three women in three different periods: 1963, 1984 and 2019. It is also a murder mystery, as you know that in each timeline, someone will end up being murdered. But who?

Of course, there are a lot more series that are worth your time. There are plenty of streaming services around as well, so people should have access to lots of those series. Here are some honourable mentions: the exciting science fiction series Impulse, the magical Sacred Lies, the fairy-tale-like Tell Me a Story (2018) and the superheroes series Titans. I think you all should be able to pass the time with this list. Is that not the case? Don't worry. There will be a lot more lists coming your way.
