Corona crisis; which series to watch? Top 5 best Scandinavian detective series

It has become a well-known image, empty supermarket shelves, empty squares and shopping malls. People work from home or not at all. How can you spend that time? We have made a top 5 displaying series you could watch in these peculiar times.
I must admit, it is a deceiving title. I'm not going to pick the best Scandinavian detectives, as those you most likely already know. I would call this top-five list different; 'the other Scandinavian detectives that you should've already seen, but haven't seen as of yet'.

5. Deadwind (Karppi)

The ending of the first season didn't do the series any good. Nonetheless, the series has a typical dark atmosphere due to the impressive landscapes and grey skies. The dynamics and twists in this series ensure its high average grade. The second season has just started airing in Finland.

4. Darkness: Those Who Kill

The first season of Those Who Kill was quite hard and direct. Especially if you compare that to other Scandinavian television series. Darkness: Those Who Kill is actually the second season. We follow a profiler, a police officer, and the perpetrator(s). That approach ensures that this series isn't the same as other comparable series.

3. Midnight Sun (Midnattsol)

This Swedish-French series is especially good due to the excellent use of circumstances and the personal background of the main characters. Important elements for this series are the midnight sun, the wild landscapes and the infinite amount of space. That Sweden has its minority groups becomes painfully obvious. The mild mystical character and the traumatised main characters do the rest.

2. Greyzone

We stretch the meaning of the word detective a bit by mentioning this series. It revolves around terrorists who want to commit an attack. To achieve this, they kidnap a drone-specialist. The game of cat and mouse between hostages, hostages and the security services is displayed ingeniously in an extremely exciting story.

1. Follow The Money

With three seasons of great entertainment, this series couldn't have ended anywhere else but on the number #1 spot. The first two seasons revolve around economic crimes, but the third was slightly different. That was noticeable as the main cast remained pretty much the same. The personal themes are highlighted well. The personal growth, but also the downfall of certain people ensure exciting television.

Soon there will be more top-five lists.
