According to Elsa Gorter, content manager at NPO Start, 2025 was an exceptionally successful year for the platform. Total viewing time has significantly increased, and more and more viewers are finding their way to new streaming titles. The strong performance of fiction series is particularly noteworthy. The success of Het gouden uur from AVROTROS shows that high-quality Dutch dramas can reach a large audience via NPO Start.

There is also extra pride in the successful transition of formats that were originally popular on YouTube. Programs like De Fomo Show from KRO-NCRV and Knock Out Champs from Supergaande for BNNVARA prove that a younger audience can be effectively attracted to NPO Start with the right content. This strategy has contributed to a broader and more diverse audience on the platform.

Looking ahead to the coming year, NPO Start continues to focus on growth and innovation. The streaming strategy will be further expanded with more titles specifically developed for online publication. One of the announced productions is Klinkt als een sekte from EO, in which Israel van Dorsten explores closed faith communities. With this, NPO Start underscores its ambition to continue offering relevant, innovative, and exclusive streaming content in the future.
