That was to be expected, because filming of the new season will not start until early 2025. In addition, Perrette revealed that the third season of The White Lotus, which is set in Thailand, will start in February. The cast includes Walton Goggins, Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Lisa from Blackpink and Natasha Rothwell from the first season.
The Last of Us season two, previously announced for spring 2025, is on track for a second quarter, Perrette said. There was a slight discrepancy over A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which Perrette said would premiere in the summer. Earlier this year, HBO and Max Content chairman and CEO Casey Bloys had said the new series would premiere in late 2025. According to sources, it is still on track for a fourth-quarter debut.
“Our biggest tentpoles started to come back in rotation this summer with House of The Dragon 2, then we go The White Lotus which will come in the first quarter in February, then we go into The Last Of Us Season 2 in the second quarter, then we have a new Game of Thrones series, smaller scale series, that will come in over the summer,” Perrette said. “As we look even beyond that we’ll see the third season of Euphoria probably in early 2026, then we get back into House of the Dragon Season 3, so we’re now in a cadence of having at least 2 or 3 of our major tentpoles every year.”

Perrette was aware of the release plans for the upcoming Harry Potter series, for which casting is now taking place ahead of the start of production next year.
“As you look at ’26 and into ’27, you begin a 10-year journey on the Harry Potter series, which we’re super excited about,” he said. “And I’d argue, may be the biggest event by the time we get to that series.”
In a conversation in September, Bloys revealed that the film adaptation of the books by J.K. Rowling is aiming for a debut in late 2026-2027.
Amid speculation over Euphoria‘s future, Bloys last month confirmed that HBO is moving forward with the long-gestating third season of the Sam Levinson series. “We are shooting the season, I have read the scripts, we’re happy, we’re moving ahead,” he said. “I know the show gets a lot of attention now because it has created some genuine movie stars, and they have various projects that they’re working on. But we are shooting this season, so nothing has changed.”
Referring to Euphoria's leads Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi and returning actor Colman Domingo, Bloys revealed that season three will consist of eight episodes. It features a time jump from the events of season two, which aired in January-February 2022.

Perrette also talked about HBO/Max's plans for an annual volume of DC content.
“We’re releasing Creature Commandos, an animated series, which kicks off James [Gunn]’ new DCU, we have Peacemaker [Season 2], we’re working on a DC Lanterns, but we’re thinking maybe do 2 DC series a year is probably plenty. You don’t need 4, you don’t need 5.”
