A Fistful of Dollars - which is based on a spaghetti western with the same name, which featured Clint Eastwood, and released in 1964 - has entered production at Mark Gordon Pictures.
The spaghetti western - which resulted in a career boost for Clint Eastwood (Rawhide) - A Fistful of Dollars is going to be adapted into a series. Mark Gordon Pictures has acquired the rights for the 1964 movie and the 1961 Akira Kurosawa movie Yojimbo, which is the original source.
Yojimbo and the remake A Fistful of Dollars revolve around a wandering stranger - the man without a name - who finds himself in a city ridden with violence. The rival gangs in the city are deceived with humour and various skills in order to destroy each other.

The series will have a similar story, but with an original and modern twist. Supposedly, there are ongoing talks with Bryan Cogman (Game of Thrones) that should ensure his participation in the project as a writer. It is not yet known where and when the series can be seen.
