Netflix has given the green light to the series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. Ryan Murphy (Ratched) and Ian Brennan created the limited series for the streaming service. Janet Mock (Pose) will be writing a couple of episodes of the series and will serve as a director alongside Carl Franklin (Mindhunter). Franklin will direct the pilot. Production is set to start next January.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is based on the story of Jeffrey Dahmer, one of Americas most notorious serial killers. Through incompetence and police apathy, a Wisconsin inhabitant was able to commit multiple murders. The series shows at least ten cases which nearly resulted in Dahmer's capture, but eventual release. Dahmer's victims tell the story.

Richard Jenkins (Berlin Station) will be portraying one of the main characters. He will portray Dahmer's father. His father was a chemist and taught his son how to bleach and conserve animal bones. Dahmer used this skill for entirely different purposes. Currently, the actor for the portrayal of Jeffrey Dahmer hasn't been found yet.
