A series about the blockbuster Flashdance that released in 1938 has entered production at CBS All Access, which will soon turn into Paramount Plus.
Flashdance comes from Paramount Television Studios. Tracy McMillan (Satisfaction) will be writing the script and Angela Robinson (Tyler Perry's The Haves and the Have Nots) will be directing. CBS All Access has started working on the new series, which is based on the movie Flashdance, which released in 1983. The series is currently in the early stages of production. CBS All Access will change its name into Paramount Plus, somewhere next year.
Flashdance will revolve around a young black woman with ballet dreams, but she lives in a strip club reality. She is struggling to find her place in the world and is busy with romance, money, art, friendship and self-loving.
