HBO has ordered the four-part series DMZ. The series comes from Ava DuVernay (Queen Sugar) and Roberto Patino (Westworld).
DMZ is based on the DC Comics strip series with the same name and takes place in a time where the USA is dominated by a gruesome civil war. Rosario Dawson (Briarpatch) and Benjamin Bratt (Law & Order) will portray the lead characters. Production on DMZ is set to begin somewhere in 2021. It is not yet known when the series is set to premiere.
Robert Patino (Westworld) has written the pilot episode and will also write the other episodes. Next to that, he will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Ava DuVernay (Queen Sugar) will also serve as executive producer alongside Patino.
