Sex and the City sequel officially in production at HBO Max

And Just Like That.... the sequel to the popular Sex and the City has entered production at HBO Max. It is not yet known when the series will release.

HBO Max has announced that ten episodes will enter production in the form of a mini-series, which will be called And Just Like That... It'll revolve around Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte. The series follows the lives of the three women and their friendship in their fifties. It is the intention that production will start near the end of spring in New York.

Sarah Jessica Parker (Divorce (2016)), Kristin Davis (Bad Teacher) and Cynthia Nixon (Ratched) will return to portray Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes. They will have to make do without lead actress Kim Cattrall (The Witness for the Prosecution) as she is currently not set to return for the portrayal of Samantha Jones.

Michael Patrick King will serve as executive producer. He directed a couple of episodes of the original series and directed and wrote the two films. The original series aired from 1998 till 2004 at HBO, after which two films were created. At The CW, a two-season-long prequel called The Carrie Diaries aired. It revolved around a young Carrie Bradshaw (Anna Sophia Robb, Mercy Street).
