NBC orders a drama series and two comedy series

NBC has ordered three series. American Auto, Grand Crew and La Brea have received a series order for the 2021-2022 season of the network.
Last year, the three series received a pilot order. The pilot of American Auto and Grand Crew managed to be completed in time, La Brea wasn't. NBC ordered six scripts for La Brea and now the series has been given a straight to series order. American Auto and Grand Crew have also been given the same treatment, which was expected.

American Auto comes from Justin Spitzer (Superstore) and takes place in the headquarters of a large American automobile company in Detroit. In the middle of a fast-changing industry, a group of supervisors try to rediscover the corporates identity. Amongst others, Aaron Kaplan (A Million Little Things) will serve as executive producer. This makes him the first executive producer to have at least one running series in the same season at all the big five networks.

Phil Augusta Jackson (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) has written the second new series. Grand Crew revolves around a group of black friends, who deal with the ups and downs of life in a wine bar.

The third new series is La Brea, which has been written by David Applebaum (NCIS: New Orleans). This series revolves around a family from LA that is driven apart by a giant sinkhole. It remains the question of whether or not part of the family manages to return home.
