Paramount+ greenlights British drama The Serial Killer's Wife

Paramount+ is making a British television drama about a woman whose husband is arrested for the murder of his former assistant. In addition, the streamer has started production of the French series The Signal.

The Serial Killer's Wife stars Annabel Scholey (The Split), Jack Farthing (Rain Dogs) and Luke Treadaway (Fortitude).



In an idyllic English town, Beth Fairchild (Scholey, pictured) has prepared a surprise party for her husband Tom (Farthing). With most of the village in attendance as Tom is the beloved local doctor, Beth's world is turned upside down when the party is interrupted by the police and Tom is arrested for murder. Beth believes her husband has been wrongly accused, but she soon makes some shocking discoveries that cast doubt on his innocence. She confides her concerns to Adam (Treadaway, pictured), Tom's childhood best friend.

The Serial Killer's Wife is produced by Clapperboard Studios and BlackBox Multimedia. Andy Morgan (Tin Star) and Mike Benson (The Madame Blanc Mysteries) serve as executive producers on the series, alongside Chiara Cardoso and Giuliano Papadia (for BlackBox Multimedia). Laura Way is the director and Jonathan Phillips is the producer. Suzanne Cowie and Ben Morris are the writers.

Clapperboard and BlackBox also made The Ex-Wife for Paramount+ UK.

Meanwhile, the streamer has started filming The Signal, another psychological drama and one of the first fruits of the Gaumont deal.

Revealed last year at Series Mania, the series from Lupine creator François Uzan follows a family who have moved to the small Breton island of Kernolé. When The Signal was unveiled, Paramount+ also greenlit a trio of other series for development, including Argentina's dystopian thriller Futuro Desierto.
