Prime Video revealed more about the series in the press release below:
Today, Prime Video announced that it has ordered Obsession from executive producer James Wan's Atomic Monster to series. Lisa Zwerling ( ER) and Karyn Usher (Prison Break) are writing and producing the series, which is based on the international bestseller 56 Days by Catherine Ryan Howard.
Obsession follows Oliver and Ciara, who fall for each other quickly and dangerously after a chance meeting in a supermarket. Fifty-six days later, homicide detectives arrive at Oliver's apartment to find an unidentified body - brutally murdered and deliberately decomposed. Did he kill her? Did she kill him?
The series is a unique crime story and a compelling, erotic, psychological thriller, in which an intense day in the current investigation alternates with the twisted course of the young lovers' affair in the past. Although the novel is set against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, the series will not be.
