Stephanie Hsu (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) cast in Peacock comedy Laid

Peacock has given a series order to Laid, a comedy from Universal Television.
The comedy is written and produced by Nahnatchka Khan (Young Rock, Fresh off the Boat) and Sally Bradford McKenna (The Goldbergs (2013), Will & Grace).

Stephanie Hsu, known from the Oscar winner Everything Everywhere All at Once, will star in the series and will produce.

Hsu (pictured) had recurring roles on Prime Video's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Hulu's The Path and guest-starred on Disney's American Born Chinese and Peacock's Poker Face. She was also recently heard as Ise in Netflix's Blue Eye Samurai.

Laid is based on the Australian creation by Marieke Hardy and Kirsty Fisher, produced by Liz Watts. It follows a woman who discovers that her former lovers are dying in unusual ways and must go back through her sex timeline to confront her past in order to move forward. It's described as a f*cked up rom-com where the answer to "Why can't I find love, is there something wrong with me?" a resounding one is, "Yes, there is. The problem is you."

The series comes from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. The executive producers are John Davis and John Fox for Davis Entertainment, Jennifer Carreras for Fierce Baby, Marieke Hardy, Kirsty Fisher and Liz Watts for Porchlight Films, and All3Media International.
