Van Dusen (photo below) is developing a series adaptation of Elle Kennedy's book Girl Abroad together with A24 and Pacesetter Productions. This comes after the team won the rights following a bidding war.

When nineteen-year-old Abbey Bly gets the chance to spend a year studying abroad in London, it's the perfect opportunity to finally slip out from under the thumb of her beloved but overbearing retired rock star father.
She's ready to be free, to discover herself - but first she has to meet the girls she shares a room with. That is, until she arrives at her beautiful new apartment and discovers that those roommates are actually all boys. Charming, funny, insufferably attractive guys. And off-limits, with a rule against fraternization between housemates after unwanted drama with the previous girl.
Abbey has never considered herself a rule breaker. But soon she lies to her father about her living situation and falls for not one, but two men she can't have: her rugby player roommate and a brooding musician with a girlfriend.
Moreover, through her research for school, she has become entangled in a deeply hidden scandal of a noble family, leaving her surrounded by secrets on all sides. If there is any hope of Abbey finding love, answers or a future in London, she will have to decide which rules - and hearts - are worth breaking.
Van Dusen will executive produce through his CVD Productions and serve as showrunner. A24 produces alongside Pacesetter Production's Jessica Rhoades and Alison Mo Massey. It's part of A24's first-look deal with Rhoades and Pacesetter. Kennedy will also produce.
It is Van Dusen's latest project since creating the hit Netflix period drama Bridgerton. Last year he sold a series adaptation of They Both Die At the End, which he co-produced with Bad Bunny, to Netflix.
