The project, from writers Dee Johnson (Fellow Travelers) and Paul Keables (Nashville), is based on an Israeli series titled Metim Lerega that ran on that country's Hot platform.

Johnson (pictured, left) and Keables (pictured, right) are producing alongside Marc Resteghini of Jack Tar Pictures and Alon Aranya of Paper Plane Productions. Amazon MGM Studios produces.
The Orpheus Project centers on "a group of young doctors who save lives by day and perform dangerous experiments on themselves by night," according to the series synopsis. “While these experiments help them solve complex medical cases, it comes at a dark price, placing them at the center of a twisted conspiracy that threatens death itself.
Johnson and Keables previously worked together on Nashville, the National Geographic scripted series Mars and Boss at Starz.
Johnson served as executive producer and writer for Showtime's Emmy-nominated series Fellow Travelers and soon has the Tessa Thompson-led series His & Hers on Netflix; she also has ER and Southland to her name. Keables earned his first success with Boss; he also wrote episodes of FX's The Strain and Netflix's Spinning Out.
That wasn't anything special either indeed.
