
The series is a relationship drama that delves into what a serial killer can teach an ordinary person about what it takes to survive in his world. Casting is underway. Filming is expected next year.
Charman is best known for his film work, including Amazon Original Killer Heat, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley and Richard Madden, and Oasis, starring Madden and Anil Kapoor. He also produced Operation Finale, written by Matthew Orton, about the hunt for Adolf Eichmann, directed by Chris Weitz. He was also set to make his directorial debut with The Mothership starring Halle Berry, but that was canceled by the streamer.
Charman started his career in television with series such as Our Zoo on the BBC and Black Work on ITV and is now increasingly returning to television.
He created Treason on Netflix, which launched on the service in 2022 and stars Charlie Cox, Olga Kurylenko, Oona Chaplin and Ciaran Hinds. He is also behind the upcoming Netflix series The Choice, starring Suranne Jones as the British Prime Minister and Julie Delpy as the French President.
Other series in development include an adaptation of Alice Feeney's book Sometimes I Lie with Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice producer Tommy Harper.
