Featuring never-before-seen personal archive footage, interviews with Peter Schmeichel himself, his family and key figures from his football and private life, such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Eric Cantona and Gary Neville, the documentary offers an intimate look into the life of this legendary goalkeeper.
Schmeichel (pictured) played a crucial role in the Danish national team's sensational victory at the 1992 UEFA European Championship and was an indispensable part of Manchester United's most successful era under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Schmeichel is not just the story of a sports icon and his success, it is a moving family story of triumphs, setbacks and personal liberation. Both episodes can be seen from February 9, 2025 in all countries where SkyShowtime is active.
Peter Schmeichel says: "As a goalkeeper I never looked back. My focus was always on the next game, the next challenge. Now, years later, that urge may be less, but what a journey it has been. Together with my family Looking back and reflecting on what I have achieved, and hearing the stories of the people who were part of this journey, is incredibly special. My life has been about more than just football and this documentary is proof of that.”
