Streamz and VTR announce tragicomic series Kassa Kassa

The new fiction series is written by Tom Lenaerts, Paul Baeten and Jeroen Mertens. In 2025, the brand new series Kassa Kassa can be seen on Streamz and VRT1. Kassa Kassa is a tragicomic series that takes place in a local convenience store. It is operated by the Stans brothers. But things are not going so well. The small, independent convenience store is on the brink of bankruptcy. Together with their colleagues, the brothers try to do everything they can to avoid this, but their well-intentioned actions defeat the purpose and only complicate matters.



After the debacle of Groeien & Bloeien, the critically acclaimed series with Ben Segers and Francisco Schuster that was set in a garden center, and the rather tepidly received Boomer with Jan Van Looveren, the public broadcaster VRT1 is taking a different tack. Kassa Kassa was written by Tom Lenaerts and Paul Baeten, who have already delivered beautiful series with, among others, Twee Zomers and Over Water.

The new series has many great names in the cast: An Miller (Twee Zomers), Serine Ayari (Exen), Herwig Illegems (Twee Zomers), Robby Cleiren (Rough Diamonds), Lucie Plasschaert (Under Fire), Jonas Vermeulen (Red Light) and Els Dottermans (The Jewish Council).
