Hulu Goes Heavy Metal with Documentary Into the Void

Hulu Goes Heavy Metal with Documentary Into the Void

The streamer has ordered Into the Void (working title), which explores the history of heavy metal.
The eight-part documentary comes from Vice Studios Canada. The series chronicles the emotional sagas behind some of the most legendary and unforgettable artists in heavy metal. The series goes behind the scenes, into the real lives of heavy metal icons.

Hulu hasn’t announced which bands will be featured, but don’t be surprised if Black Sabbath, Metallica (pictured), and Slayer are among the stars.

Production is currently underway and the series is slated to debut on Hulu in 2025.

The series will be led by executive producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener, who co-created Vice TV’s most-watched documentary Dark Side of the Ring, which ran for multiple seasons.

It’s the latest music documentary for Hulu, which previously produced Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and Fanatical: The Catfishing of Tegan and Sara.

Vice has long been associated with heavy metal, having debuted original documentaries like 2007’s Heavy Metal in Baghdad and the Jonas Åkerlund-directed Mayhem biopic Lords of Chaos.

Sounds interesting. As a true metalhead I will definitely watch this.
A tip for fellow metalheads: Brian Johnson's A Life on the Road.
