Apple TV+ has greenlit Wild Things, the limited series about Las Vegas illusionist duo Siegfried & Roy. The eight-part series is based on the original Apple podcast Wild Things: Siegfried & Roy and is written, directed and executive produced by Only Murders in the Building co-creator John Hoffman. Law (pictured) plays Siegfried and Garfield Roy. The series is set to go into production this fall.
German magicians Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Uwe Horn became real-life stars in Las Vegas, along with their white lions and tigers. But their careers were cut short in 2003 by a tiger attack on stage.
A description from the producers calls the series a "wild, relational tale of two of history's greatest showman-magicians who, along with their white tigers, are tasked with transforming Sin City into a family-friendly destination. The duo pushes the concept of illusion versus reality to its limits, both personally and professionally, until tragedy reframes their final ill-fated Las Vegas show and unlocks a mystery."
Horn was partially paralyzed by the tiger attack, and after a brief comeback in 2010, the duo retired from show business. Horn died in 2020 at the age of 75.
Garfield (pictured) played Mormon detective Jeb Pyre in FX on Hulu’s Emmy-nominated limited series Under the Banner of Heaven.
Law starred in the HBO/Canal+/Sky Atlantic series The Young Pope and The New Pope. Last year, he appeared in Disney+’s Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
