Netflix orders two new series: All the Sinners Bleed and The Body

Netflix has ordered two new series: All the Sinners Bleed, about a black sheriff hunting a serial killer, and The Body, about a group of Catholic schoolgirls who experience visions. All the Sinners Bleed is based on the novel of the same name by S.A. Cosby and comes from The Obama’s Higher Ground and Amblin Television. Joe Robert Cole (Black Panther) will direct the series in nine episodes and serve as showrunner.

The series follows the first black sheriff in a small Bible Belt county, haunted by his past with the FBI and the untimely death of his devout mother. He must lead the hunt for a serial killer who has been quietly preying on black communities in Southern Virginia for years in the name of God.



The Body is a new drama series from Quinn Shephard (pictured), creator of Hulu's Under the Bridge , who will also serve as showrunner and director. The series is a coming-of-age drama that follows a group of poorly behaved Catholic schoolgirls who, after a failed dance team initiation, receive prophetic visions that cause mass hysteria in their town.
