Peacock is developing Strangers, a thriller drama written and executive produced by Jon Harmon Feldman (Designated Survivor). Actresses Leslie Mann and Gabrielle Union are in the works for the lead roles in the upcoming series Strangers , a project in development from Jennifer Klein, who will also direct, Sheldon Turner's 100% Productions, A+E Studios (of The Lincoln Lawyer fame) and UCP.
Although contracts have not yet been signed, both actresses will not only star in the series, but will also serve as executive producers if the project is greenlit. Peacock and A+E Studios have not yet made any official comments.
Leslie Mann
The series is described as a female-led reimagining of Hitchcock’s classic Strangers on a Train. The story revolves around a neglected housewife who befriends a mysterious woman who seems to be her polar opposite. As their bond grows, it becomes apparent that they have more in common than they thought, and that both women harbor dark secrets that threaten to seriously disrupt their seemingly peaceful suburban lives.
The series is directed by Jennifer Klein and written by Jon Feldman, who previously created series such as Tru Calling and No Ordinary Family and was most recently showrunner on the musical drama Monarch for Fox.
Gabrielle Union
Gabrielle Union is known for her roles in Truth Be Told (2019), L.A.'s Finest (alongside Jessica Alba), Being Mary Jane, FlashForward and Ugly Betty.
Leslie Mann has made a name for herself in the film world with roles in The Cable Guy, George of the Jungle, Knocked Up and Motherless Brooklyn. She will soon be seen in Poetic License, the directorial debut of her daughter Maude Apatow.
