Regé-Jean Page to star in Apple TV+'s Funny You Should Ask

Apple is developing a series based on "Funny You Should Ask," with Regé-Jean Page as the lead. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Elissa Sussman.
In a competitive bidding round, Apple has secured the rights to develop a television series based on Elissa Sussman's bestselling novel, "Funny You Should Ask." According to sources, Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton) will not only executive produce through his production company, A Mighty Stranger, but will also star.

The novel "Funny You Should Ask," published in 2022, centers on a young, ambitious journalist who interviews a Hollywood hunk. Ten years later, they meet again, and unexpected feelings surface.

In the book, the actor being interviewed is the newest James Bond—a role Page will reportedly play in the series. A striking detail: Page himself has long been cited as the favorite for the real 007 role since his breakthrough role as the Duke of Hastings in the Netflix series "Bridgerton."

If the series were to go ahead, this would be Page's first television role since "Bridgerton," and his return to the romance genre with which he made his international breakthrough.

Besides his television work, Page has appeared in films such as "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves," "The Gray Man," and Steven Soderbergh's espionage thriller "Black Bag."
