Millie Bobby Brown will star and serve as executive producer in the new Netflix series Prism, currently in development at the streamer. In addition to Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Rachel Brosnahan (House of Cards (2013), The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), and AGBO — the production company of Joe Russo and Anthony Russo — are also involved as executive producers on the project. This marks their third collaboration with Netflix.
Millie Bobby Brown
Etan Frankel (Shameless (US), Joe vs. Carole) has been appointed as the showrunner for the series.
Netflix has not yet commented officially, but according to the initial details, Brown plays the role of Cassie, a young woman with a unique ability: she can communicate with spirits. When so-called 'visitors' — appearances of the deceased — suddenly start appearing worldwide, Cassie must uncover the cause of this mysterious phenomenon before it’s too late.
The series is based on the short story Prism, originally published in the magazine Assemble Artifacts. The story was internally developed by writer Nick Shafir, who will also serve as a co-producer. The production is managed by Assemble Media.
According to sources, Brown’s involvement in Prism will not affect her other ongoing projects. This marks her second collaboration with AGBO, following her lead role in the recent Netflix science fiction film The Electric State, also directed by the Russo brothers.
Prism marks a new step in Brown’s longstanding collaboration with Netflix. She achieved worldwide fame as Eleven in Stranger Things, whose fifth and final season will be released later this year in three parts. Her Enola Holmes films were also major successes on the platform; a third film is scheduled for 2026.
Rachel Brosnahan
Rachel Brosnahan, known from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (for which she won multiple Emmys), began her career at Netflix with roles in House of Cards (2013) and Orange Is the New Black. She portrays Lois Lane in James Gunn's Superman and is currently working on the second season of Presumed Innocent for Apple TV.
AGBO, the Russo brothers' production company, is currently involved in various major projects, including Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027). The studio recently delivered the Netflix hit The Electric State and is also working on The Bluff (Amazon MGM), The Whisper Man (Netflix), and the second season of Citadel (Prime Video).
Showrunner Etan Frankel is currently working on Big Mistakes for Netflix, written by and starring Dan Levy. He previously produced Joe vs. Carole for Peacock and worked on Shameless (US), Animal Kingdom (2016), and Get Shorty.
