The Stargate franchise began in 1994 with the feature film by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich, followed by three popular series — SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe — as well as two direct-to-DVD films, a short-lived animated series, and a web series in 2018. The new series will be the first television title since 2011, when SGU Stargate Universe ended.
Details about the content are being kept under wraps for now. Prime Video describes the series only as a “bold new chapter” within the Stargate universe. Brad Wright, co-creator of the previous three series, and Joseph Mallozzi, one of the regular producers and writers, return as consulting producers.
According to Amazon, the new series must both honor Stargate’s rich legacy and take the franchise into an ambitious, emotionally layered future. Prime Video emphasizes that Stargate has held iconic status for decades due to its exploration of humanity's place in the universe, and this new series is expected to once again appeal to a global audience.

But when I read a piece of marketing bullshit like this, I have serious fears. "Written in my DNA," "an ambitious, emotionally layered future," what nonsense. Fans just want a cool new story that does the franchise justice. So I'm worried if this is adapted to current American standards of virtue. Hopefully, future news articles on this topic will provide more information about what they really want to do.
