Paramount+ releases trailer and first look photos for Girl Taken with Alfie Allen

The six-part psychological thriller Girl Taken, previously known as Baby Doll, is based on the novel of the same name by Hollie Overton.
The story revolves around twin sisters Lily and Abby, whose lives are completely disrupted when Lily is abducted from their quiet, rural English hometown. The perpetrator is Rick Hansen, an apparently beloved local teacher, played by Alfie Allen.

What follows are years of abuse and psychological torment in captivity. When Lily eventually manages to escape, freedom does not mark the end of her nightmare, but the beginning of a new, complex struggle to survive and find her place in the world again.

Alongside Alfie Allen, the main cast includes Jill Halfpenny, Tallulah Evans, and Delphi Evans.

The series depicts how Rick poses as a helpful and involved citizen during Lily's disappearance, participating in the search for the missing girl, while short, intense scenes reveal his true, dark nature.

Simultaneously, the desperation of Lily’s mother, Eve, is poignantly portrayed as she pleads for help from the public and continues to hope for her daughter's return. The confrontation between appearance and reality, and between power and vulnerability, forms the core of the story.

In addition to the main cast, Vikash Bhai, Niamh Walsh, Levi Brown, Victoria Ekanoye, Holly Atkins, and Kiran Krishnakumar appear in supporting roles.

Girl Taken premieres worldwide on Paramount+ on Thursday, January 8, 2026.
