Darren Star, creator of Emily in Paris, is working on a new series for Netflix titled Uncorked. Uncorked, the project that Darren Star is co-developing with David Schulner for Netflix, has now officially received the green light after an earlier direct script-to-series agreement.

The series is set in Napa Valley and follows a talented but self-destructive winemaker who returns to her roots for a second chance at love, family legacy, and professional success.
Her greatest passion—wine—also turns out to be her weakness, leading to personal and professional challenges. The story combines themes such as romance, ambition, and self-discovery against the backdrop of the prestigious wine world.
Star and Schulner are writing the series and will serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. For Star, Uncorked represents a further expansion of his collaboration with Netflix, where he has already found success with Emily in Paris, which was recently renewed for a sixth season.
According to the creators, the series revolves around the tension between passion and self-destruction, and how this dynamic can shape a person's life. Netflix views Uncorked as a potential new international audience favorite, thanks in part to Star's previous successes and the appealing setting of Napa Valley, where he believes "every good wine has its own story."
