Good Bones lands after bidding war at Amazon

Good Bones lands after bidding war at Amazon

After a fierce bidding war between multiple parties, Amazon MGM Studios has acquired the rights to the short story Good Bones by Sam Lansky.
The project is being developed for Prime Video as a psychosexual, erotic thriller series, with Jennifer Salke serving as executive producer through her production company, Sullivan Street Productions.

The series is set in the world of country music in Nashville and combines elements of suspense, erotica, and drama, while also incorporating themes of home renovation and house flipping. While many plot details are still under wraps, it's clear that Sam Lansky himself is responsible for writing the adaptation and will also remain involved as an executive producer. Alongside Salke, Matt Milam and RaeAnn Bussola are also producing the project.

Lansky is a well-known name in the media world: he previously worked as an editor at Time and wrote a famous profile of Taylor Swift, who was named Person of the Year in 2023. Additionally, he is the author of the books The Gilded Razor and Broken People, and he recently contributed to the film I Know What You Did Last Summer.

For Jennifer Salke, this project marks a new step since her departure as head of Amazon MGM Studios, after which she founded Sullivan Street Productions. Her new production company has a multi-year first-look deal with Amazon and has previously secured other sought-after projects, such as the adaptation of a novel by Kirsty Greenwood. At the same time, Salke remains involved in larger film productions, including Honeymoon with Harry and the sequel to Red, White & Royal Blue.

During her tenure at Amazon MGM Studios, Salke was responsible for developing and approving a series of successful titles, including The Boys, Fallout, and Reacher. With Good Bones, she seems to be aiming once again for an ambitious and striking project that has the potential to appeal to a broad audience.
