Yahoo and Microsoft reveal series

Tech-giants Yahoo and Microsoft announced earlier this year that they wanted to start producing TV series. Now their first projects have been revealed.

Yahoo Digital, which will take care of the original creations of Yahoo, told Variety it will create two half-hour comedy series.
‘Other Space’ will be written by Paul Feig (‘Freaks & Geeks’, ‘Bridesmaids'). The series will focus on a group of space adventurers who discover an alternate universe.
‘Sin City Saints’ will focus on a basketball team located in Las Vegas. Mike Tollin (‘Smallville’) will produce the show.
Yahoo has ordered eight episodes of each series, which will all appear online at the same time, like the method of Netflix. When the series will appear online hasn’t been announced yet.

Microsoft is following a different strategy. The software producer will only produce series for its Xbox users.
‘Halo’ is based on the famous game franchise of the same name. Not much is known about it yet, apart from Stephen Spielberg being attached to the project as executive producer.
‘Humans’ will be an adaptation of the Swedish ‘Real Humans’. The drama will focus on a family and their adventures with a weird technological marvel called “Synth”. Synth is a robot servant.
The two series are set to appear on Xbox in June.
