James Franco in new series of Stephen King at Hulu

Oscar nominated actor James Franco (127 Hours, General Hospital) will play the main character in the upcoming Hulu Original series ‘11/22/63’, from J.J. Abrams ' Bad Robot Productions, acclaimed author Stephen King, executive producer/writer Bridget Carpenter and Warner Bros. Television.

Based on the bestseller with the same name from 2011 by Stephen King, ‘11/22/63’ is a thriller in which high school English teacher Jake Epping (Franco) travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy from happening. But his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald, his falling in love and the past itself ... which doesn’t want to be changed.

When the nine-part event series will premier has not been announced yet by Hulu. At the time that Stephen King's mini-series was announced, he responded as follows: “If I ever wrote a book that cries out for longform, event-TV programming, ‘11/22/63’ is it.”
