FX brings crime series Redeemer

Matthew McConaughey and Nic Pizzolatto work together on the new Redeemer for FX. McConaughey will play the leading role in this and - together with Pizzolatto - will also take on the production. The duo worked together before. The actor Matthew McConaughey appeared in the first season of the 2014 anthology series True Detective, which was written by Nic Pizzolatto.

Redeemer is inspired by Patrick Coleman's debut novel The Churchgoer. The book is about a former pastor in the series - played by Matthew McConaughey - who has now become a guard. His search for a missing woman in Texas leads him to a corrupt and criminal conspiracy. FX Productions and Fox 21 will produce Redeemer.
