Sherlock actor in one of the four new BBC series made by debuting writers

BBC has started production on four series from debuting writers, including the police series The Responder, which has a Sherlock actor in the lead.
The Responder was written by former police officer Tony Schumacher. He was assisted by writer Jimmy McGovern (Accused). In the six-part BBC Two series, each episode focuses on a different night shift from police officer Chris and his new partner, Rachel. During these services, they must control the criminal underworld of Liverpool, and Chris must also work on his unstable marriage. Chris is portrayed by The Hobbit and Sherlock actor Martin Freeman.

Sex Education director Alice Seabright has written the six-part series Chloe for BBC One. The series revolves around Becky, who becomes obsessed with the death of an old friend, Chloe. Becky, while trying to unravel what exactly happened, takes on a new identity to infiltrate into the life of Chloe's best friends.

My Name Is Leon is a series adaptation of the novel of the same name by Kit de Waal. The series is written by Shola Amoo for BBC One. My Name Is Leon is set in Britain in the 1980s and tells the story of nine-year-old Leon, who tries to keep his family together while his single mother goes through a dark period.

Finally, BBC has ordered Three Superhoe from NicĂ´le Lecky. The series is based on the Royal Court theater show of Lecky and follows a singer and rapper who is thrown out of her parental home and moves in with a girl who introduces her to a world of social media and sex work. Lecky herself plays the lead role of Sasha Clayton. The story is partly told through songs.
