Disney+ is developing a new Star Wars series, with women in the lead role. Leslye Headland (Russian Doll) will write the series
Allegedly, the new series is set to be an action thriller with martial arts elements, which is led by women. The series will take place in an alternative timeline, and not the usual Star Wars universe. The specific story of the series isn't known as of yet. The series will be written by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), and she will also serve as showrunner.
This Star Wars series isn't the only upcoming Disney+ series in the franchise. Earlier, the streaming service also released The Mandalorian. Disney+ is also working on two other Star Wars series, one will revolve around Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the other one will be based on Rogue One.
