Apple TV+ orders The Shrink Next Door

Apple TV+ has ordered The Shrink Next Door, which features Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell. The series is an adaptation of the Wondery en Bloomberg Media podcast with the same name. Last February, it was revealed that Media Rights Capital (MRC) was developing a series adaptation of the Wondery en Bloomberg Media podcast with the same name. Apple TV+ has ordered the dark comedy.

The Shrink Next Door follows the bizarre relationship between psychiatrist Dr Isaac "Ike" Herschkopf (Paul Rudd, Living with Yourself) and his old patient Martin "Marty" Markowitz (Will Ferrell, Motherland: Fort Salem). In the course of their relationship, Ike slowly takes over Marty's life, including his house and his family business.

Michael Showalter will direct the series. Georgia Pritchett (Veep) has written the scenario. The eight-part series will premiere globally on Apple TV+. An exact release date has not yet been revealed.
