After Safe, The Stranger (2020) and The Woods (2020), Netflix is now working on a fourth series based on a book from Harlan Coben.
Coben will adapt his novel Stay Close from 2012 into a film with the help of Red Production Company. The writer and the company previously collaborated on Safe and The Stranger (2020) for Netflix. The Five is also a production from Coben and Red production. Both parties are still discussing the potential cast and who's going to write the series. Coben signed a five-year contract with Netflix in 2018 with the intention of adapting fourteen of his books into either a series or a film.
Stay Close revolves around three people, who live with a big secret and live a life they don't want to live. Housewife Meg has a rather wild history and starts to get less happy with her current life. Talented photographer Ray languishes in his bland job at a gossip newspaper, and Detective Broome struggles to let go of an old case. Ultimately, the past will overtake them and have a major impact on their current life.
